The genome of Emys orbicularis has been characterised for the first time and presented within integrated analyses of genomic data and environmental niche models on various species of turtles and tortoises. These analyses are used to obtain information on how organisms have reacted to environmental changes in the past and to contribute to the assessment of vulnerability and resilience to current climate change.
